This guide maps the Occudule app from top to bottom: the Header, the Home screen, and the Footer tabs. Use it as a tour after you create your free account, or jump to a section from the list below.
For what Occudule extracts from school email, see the Occudule features outline. To process a message, follow how to process school emails in Occudule.
What's in the app
Occudule keeps three areas on every main screen.
Header
The header sits at the top of every main screen. It has two menus: the Child picker on the left and Profile on the right.
Child picker menu
The child picker is in the top-left corner. It lists every child on your account, plus All.
All is selected by default. In that view, Occudule shows events, info, and to-dos for every child. Color-coded tags on cards show which child each item belongs to. If you uploaded a photo for a child, that photo appears next to the name.
The child picker All is whose children you see. On the Event and Info tabs, a separate Daily / Weekly / All control filters by date. Both can apply at the same time.
Tap the picker, then tap a child's name to see only that child's events, info, and to-dos.
How many children you can add depends on your plan (one on Free, more on Premium and Diamond). See how to upgrade your Occudule account.
Profile menu
Profile is in the top-right corner. Tap it to open:
User Profile
User Profile is your account and integrations screen.
- Review your name. Your account email (the address you signed in with) is read-only.
- Under Syncing | Integration, check Email Account (for syncing). That Gmail or Microsoft mailbox is what Occudule uses for syncing school mail. It is separate from Sign in with Apple.
- Connect or reconnect email from this screen. If you signed in with Apple using iCloud or Hide My Email, the sync box stays empty until you enter a Gmail or Microsoft address. See how to connect email after Sign in with Apple and how to reconnect your email account.
- Premium and Diamond users can also connect Google or Outlook Calendar here for conflict checks and calendar sync.
Family group members do not manage email sync. They can still connect a calendar. The family owner processes school email for the household.
Family Profile
Family Profile is where you manage children and the household.
- Add or edit each child's name, grade, grade start date, school, and school email domain. Occudule uses those names and domains to recognize school mail.
- Add other education institutions (clubs, teams, or programs) per child, with their own domains and keywords.
- Scroll to Family Group to invite another parent, guardian, or caregiver. Family Group is available on Premium or Diamond. Follow how to invite others to your Occudule family group.
You land on Family Profile during setup. You can return anytime from the Profile menu.
Subscription
Subscription shows your current plan (Free, Premium, or Diamond) and lets you change it.
- Tap View & Change Plans to compare monthly and yearly Premium or Diamond.
- Purchases go through the App Store. Occudule does not store your card number.
After an upgrade, reconnect email and calendar if the app asks you to. The full flow is in how to upgrade your Occudule account. Plan limits (children, email processing, conflict detection, calendar sync) are summarized in the Occudule features outline.
Billing Help
Billing Help covers App Store subscription settings, receipts, and restore. In-app subscriptions are billed by Apple, so invoices and cancellations live in your Apple ID subscription settings, not inside Occudule.
If a purchase does not show in the app, use Restore on the Subscription screen, then contact support from Contact Us if it still looks wrong.

- Sync status — whether email and calendar syncing is active, pending, or failed
- Event conflict check range — how far ahead Occudule looks for overlaps (default 30 days, maximum 60 days; conflict detection is a Premium or Diamond plan feature)
- Upcoming event notifications — optional Event Alert 1 and Event Alert 2, from a few minutes up to a week before an event
- Time zone — follows your phone by default; you can override it
- Delete Account — permanently removes your profile, children, and synced data after a confirmation. This is separate from Log out.

You can also use the website Contact page. Do not send payment card numbers or passwords in chat.
Log out
Log out signs you out of Occudule on this device. It does not delete your account or family data. To delete the account, use Delete Account in Settings.
Home screen
The Home screen (also the Home tab) is the first view after setup. It has two sections that both show today's date in the heading. Content for a new day starts at midnight.
Today's Events
Today's Events lists activities scheduled for today, earliest to latest.
Each card can include the event name, institution, time, location (when Occudule has one), a short email summary, related to-dos, a link back to the original email, whether a reply is required, and any action link (permission form, school portal, or similar).
A progress bar under the section title shows completed to-dos versus total to-dos for today (red 0–30%, yellow 31–70%, green 71–100%). Each event card has a smaller bar for that event's to-dos. Tap Show More for full details, including school/sibling and external calendar conflicts on Premium and Diamond plan.
If nothing is on the calendar for today, Home shows a short empty message.
Email Received Today
Email Received Today lists school and activity emails Occudule processed today, newest first. Receipt time is used for sorting and is not shown on the card.
Cards use the same detail pattern as Today's Events (name, institution, sender, date, summary, to-dos, reply and action flags). Pull down to refresh and sync with your mailbox. Tap Show More for the full record.
If you are caught up, Occudule shows You're all caught up! with shortcuts to add a manual event or open Settings.
Microsoft inboxes sync automatically after you connect them. Gmail users forward the messages they want processed. Both paths are in how to process school emails in Occudule.
Footer
The footer is the bar along the bottom of every main screen. Five tabs switch the main view. The Header stays visible so you can still filter by child or open Profile.
Home tab
The Home tab opens the Home screen: Today's Events and Email Received Today. Use it as the daily snapshot of what is happening and what arrived today.
Event (Calendar) tab
The Event (Calendar) tab is your in-app schedule of school events. At the top, Daily, Weekly, and All choose the date range. The tab opens in Daily. Weeks start on Sunday.
Daily, Weekly, and All on Event
These date filters are not the same as All in the child picker. Use both together: one for whose kids, the other for which dates.
- Tap Daily to see one day. Occudule also jumps to today.
- Tap Weekly to see Sunday–Saturday. It keeps the week you are already viewing.
- Tap All for events from that week through the next four months. It also keeps the week you are viewing.
- Tap the month and year to open a monthly picker, then tap a date.
- Tap Today to jump to today without changing Daily, Weekly, or All.
- Use the week arrows to move the Sunday–Saturday strip. In Daily, tap a day on the strip to select it. In Weekly and All, the strip is dimmed.
What you see:
- Daily — events for the selected day, listed by time. Cards omit the date.
- Weekly — seven day sections. Today's date is highlighted. Days with no events show No events.
- All — one section per date, oldest first. Today's heading is Today. If nothing falls in that window, Occudule shows No events from this week onward.
A readiness bar under the strip shows completed to-dos versus total for the dates on screen (Daily Readiness, Weekly Readiness, or All Readiness; red 0–30%, yellow 31–70%, green 71–100%). Tap View To-dos to open the To-dos tab.
A small red dot on a date means at least one event that day has a time conflict (another Occudule event and/or your connected calendar). Open the event for the two-line breakdown. Conflict detection and calendar sync are Premium and Diamond.
Each event card matches Home: name, institution, time, location, summary, to-dos, email link, reply and action flags, and Show More. Tap + to add an event by hand when something never arrived by email. In Daily, the new event is dated for the day you selected; in Weekly and All it defaults to today.
Info tab
The Info tab holds reference material you saved from emails Occudule classified as Info — policies, supply lists, and other details that are not a dated event.
When a message is informational rather than a scheduled activity, confirmation asks you to treat it as Info. Choosing Yes, process saves it here instead of on the calendar. The Event versus Info choice is explained in how to process school emails in Occudule.
Daily, Weekly, and All on Info
At the top, Daily, Weekly, and All work like the Event tab, but they filter by when the email was received, not an event date. The tab opens in Daily.
- Daily — Info received that day, newest first.
- Weekly — one list for the whole week (not grouped by day).
- All — grouped by received date, from the week you are viewing through the next four months. If nothing falls in that window, Occudule shows No info emails from this week onward.
A readiness bar under the strip shows completed to-dos versus total for the Info items on screen. Tap View To-dos to open the To-dos tab.
Use the child picker to show info for one child or for All. There is no + on this tab: Info is saved from email confirmation, not added by hand here.
To-dos tab
The To-dos tab is a year → month → day view of tasks Occudule extracted from email or that you added yourself.
- Tap the year (top left) for a 12-month grid, then a month, then a day.
- Each to-do shows a status control and a deadline. An empty circle means not done; tap it to complete (solid dot).
- Tap the title to open details. An event-related to-do opens event details, where you can tick to-dos too. A standalone to-do opens a To-do sheet, where you can edit or delete it — not event details.
- A to-do deadline can differ from a parent event time. Changing the deadline does not move the event.
- Tap the magnifying glass for search across to-dos and events.
If the selected day has no to-dos, Occudule invites you to Tap ➕ to add one.
Adding a to-do
Tap + (or the empty-state hint) to open Add To-do. First choose a To-do type:
- Add a standalone To-do — pick a child, a deadline date and time, and the details. The item appears on this tab on that deadline. It is not linked to an event.
- Add an event-related To-do — pick an existing event, set a deadline (it can differ from the event time), and save. Or tap Add New Event to create an event and add to-dos there; you do not need to return to this sheet.
On Premium or Diamond family groups, you can also assign either type to someone.
When someone in your Family Group assigns you a to-do, you also get a notification. See details on that notification opens this tab with the item highlighted.
Notification center tab
The Notification center tab is the in-app inbox for confirmations and updates.
Notifications are grouped by date (newest first). Unread rows are bold. Each card shows the time. If you chose No, discard on a confirmation, the card can show a Discarded label.
Typical types include:
- Event confirmation and Info confirmation — review a detected school email, confirm Event or Info, then Yes, process or No, discard
- New event / New info — something was saved
- Family member joined and To-do assigned — household activity
Tap an unread item to open the confirmation or detail screen. The same confirmations open from a phone push notification. Long-press to select one or more rows and mark them read or unread, or delete them. Tap the magnifying glass (or the pinned search bar after you scroll) to search notifications.
If a Gmail forward is missing, open this tab and tap refresh. The full confirm-and-save flow is in how to process school emails in Occudule.
