How to Connect Gmail or Microsoft Email After Sign in with Apple

Signed in to Occudule with Apple using iCloud or Hide My Email? Enter a Gmail or Microsoft address in Email Account (for syncing) so school mail can connect.

Sign in with Apple creates your Occudule account. It does not connect school email. Occudule syncs school messages from a Gmail or Microsoft mailbox (Outlook, Hotmail, Live, or MSN).

If Email Account (for syncing) is empty after Apple sign-in, the app is working as designed. Your Apple login (including iCloud or Hide My Email) cannot be used for syncing. Enter a supported mailbox, then connect it.

You will see this when:

  • You chose Hide My Email (@privaterelay.appleid.com).
  • You signed in with iCloud or another address that is not Gmail or Microsoft.
  • A reminder under the box says your Apple sign-in address cannot be used for syncing.

If Apple already shared a Gmail or Microsoft address, that address is filled in for you. Skip to Step 4.

Step 1: Open User Profile

  1. From the home screen, tap Profile.
  2. Select User Profile.

Step 2: Find Email Account (for syncing)

On the User Profile screen, scroll down to the Syncing | Integration section.

  • The account email at the top is the address you used with Apple. It is read-only.
  • Email Account (for syncing) is the mailbox Occudule uses for school mail. If it is empty, a reminder appears under the box: "Enter a Gmail or Microsoft email here to sync school mail. Your Apple sign-in address cannot be used for syncing."

Step 3: Enter a Gmail or Microsoft email

  1. Tap Email Account (for syncing).
  2. Type a Gmail or Microsoft address (Outlook, Hotmail, Live, or MSN).
  3. Do not enter iCloud, Hide My Email, or another unsupported address. Those stay in your Apple login field only.

Step 4: Connect the mailbox

When the address is supported, email syncing shows Not connected yet.

  1. Tap "here" (highlighted in green in "Tap here to connect and start syncing").
  2. A confirmation prompt will ask you to allow Google or Microsoft to share information with Occudule. Tap Continue.
  3. Sign in with the same Gmail or Microsoft account you typed in the box.
  4. When linking succeeds, you should see "Your email account is linked for syncing." Tap OK.

Apple sign-in is not used in this step. You are connecting Gmail or Microsoft for mail sync.

Step 5: Finish Gmail or Microsoft setup

  • Microsoft (Outlook, Live, MSN, or Hotmail): Setup is complete. Occudule can process incoming school mail that matches the schools and institutions on your Family Profile.
  • Gmail: Forward school emails to your Occudule address. On User Profile, use Add to Contacts in the Email Forwarding section so Occudule Forward is saved in Google Contacts. Details are in how to create and set up your free Occudule account.
